1. Complete
the Ergonomic Assessment
Is your computer workstation safe and ergonomically situated? If
not, what do you need to change to work in an ergonomically supported
environment? What about using PDAs? or laptops? or cp?
My
current workstation is not yet designed to be ergonomic. Although, I am
currently planning on reorganizing it to fit the environment I needed. The
correct chair and study table is needed for me to prevent strain and be
comfortable working in the space. There also a choice of using the PDA. There
are some ways how to properly handle the PDA to perform ergonomically support. You
stand in front of the PDA and have a distance. Mostly, I prefer laptops
because of the access and workability. Typing is a little hard in cellphones or
tablets.
2. Asepsis
and computer exercise.
What activities do you think are the biggest culprits for promoting
the growth of these harmful micro-organism?
The
first one is the unhygienic use of the devices by not washing hands before and
after touching it. Also, the device and the workplace should be cleaned and disinfected
often to avoid bacterial growth.
What can nurses do to protect their clients from
computer-transmitted infections?
Avoiding
getting food, even the crumbs, and drinks away is a way to prevent it. Also, do
not forget hand hygiene before and after use of these devices. Keeping
everything clean and aseptic by using gloves, mask and gowns can help prevent
infection spread.
Who is responsible for cleaning computer and mobile equipment in
your employing agency or workplace
The
person who uses it is responsible. No one is responsible to clean and disinfect
the ‘dirt’ you’ve ‘done’. Also, this prevents from other people to mess up your
work in the computer and promotes privacy.
3. Standardized
Nursing Language exercise
If you
were on a planning committee to determine the language to use to clearly
articulate nursing data (assessment, interventions, client perspectives and
experiences, outcomes, etc.)
What important considerations would you keep in mind? Would it be
easy to reach a consensus?
As a
nurse, my priority consideration should be the care that is provided for the
best benefit of my patient. It may not be easy but it is also not impossible to
reach a consensus. The complexity of nursing is one the reason why it has
become a challenge to develop comprehensive, integrated health information. However,
by collaborating and communicating effectively with the healthcare team, a
mutual decision can be made for the best possible intervention for the patient.
4. Telehealth
and Telenursing exercise
Tele-health
practice not only call for nurses to reconceptualize presence, place, and
bodies in nursing, but also to explore how these practices threaten to
displace nursing it is imperative for any nurse who engages in telenursing to
be aware of this, and to ensure that network exchange with their clients
reflect dynamic, personable caring and attentiveness, even when the
interactions occur via ICT mediums.
What can nurses do to ensure this?
Even
in a virtual setting, nurses should provide effective individualized care. Patients
who use telehealth because they live in remote areas of the country benefit
from it because it saves them time and money on trip. That’ why nurses must
strive to envision and experience the client's three-dimensional body and
accurately advise, assess, diagnose, and interact fully. We are in a evolving
world so we must learn to adapt and survive appropriately.
